Help others to feel the warmth in Klamath Falls

Klamath Falls, Ore. – A unique partnership in Klamath Falls aims to keep families warm as temperatures drop.

Pacific Power, and Klamath / Lake Community Action Services are teaming up to collect donations of portable heaters and blankets.

Todd Andres of Pacific Power says the program was sparked by a summer effort in Roseburg to collect fans to keep people cool.

“We’re just kind of doing the reverse here in Klamath.”  Explains Andres.  “We’re getting blankets and space heaters to help people stay warm this winter.”

Rob Petchell of Klamath / Lake Community Action Services believes the drive will enhance existing programs.

“We can help them out with some energy assistance.”  Notes Petchell.  “But if we can also get them a blanket, or a heater to help keep them a little bit warmer, during the winter it’s going to help out a lot.”

Donations can be dropped off at the Pacific Power operations center on Mallard Lane.

“A blanket should be around a person’s body, not in a closet.”  States Andres.

The drive will continue through November 20th.

Andres adds that if your business, or class wants to help with the heater and blanket drive, he can work to arrange a pickup of those donations.

Andres can be reached at:  (541) 883-7889.
