Klamath Falls building improvement grants

Klamath Falls, Ore. – The City of Klamath Falls is now offering grants for building improvements in the downtown area aimed at improving safety, and appearance.

It might be time to give your downtown Klamath Falls business a face lift.

Kristina Buckley of the City of Klamath Falls notes that facade improvement grants of up to $10,000 are now available for external improvements…

“Let’s say they have old awnings, or old paint that needs to be upgraded – modernize the front of their buildings, new windows.”

Buckley adds that grants of up to $15,000 are also available for safety improvements…

“Putting a fire suppression system in there, those can be pretty cost prohibitive – putting in any kind of seismic retrofitting.”

Klamath Falls has set aside about $50,000 in economic development funds for the grants.

You’ll find details and application forms available online at  www.klamathfalls.city   – Forms must be turned in by the end of October.

A design review committee will consider all applications, and make their recommendations for funding to the Klamath Falls City Council.
