‘Life Champion’ visits Klamath County schools

Klamath Falls, Ore. – An Oregon man is taking his amazing comeback story to Klamath County schools this week.

Richard Jensen battled a 15 year meth addiction, and served 6 years in prison.

But Jensen turned his life around…and went on to make it to the College National Wrestling Championships at the age of 36.

Jensen presented his message of making positive choices to students at Henley Middle School Monday morning.

“I come in for an assembly, we have discussion and focus groups in the afternoon, I go to wrestling practice, they get wristbands.”  Explains Jensen.  “We encompass a lot of things throughout the day to reach these kids from different angles.”

An ESPN account of Jensen’s story won an Emmy award in 2008.
