Memorial built for fallen protest spokesman

02.01 FINICUM MEMORIALOre. — A memorial has been built where Robert Lavoy Finicum was shot and killed in a confrontation with police. The 54-year-old protest spokesman was killed Tuesday during a traffic stop when the FBI and state police moved in to arrest members of the group.

They’ve occupied the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge since January 2nd.

As of Sunday night, four holdouts were still at the refuge, in spite of requests from the group’s arrested leader Ammon Bundy that they “stand down.”
