Portland woman removed from flight as passengers boo

Portland, Ore. — A woman kicked-off a recent American Airlines flight bound for Portland has plenty of support from fellow passengers.

They say it was a miscommunication between the woman and a flight attendant and she didn’t deserve the boot.

Bill Byrne was on the plane and is back home in PDX. He explains what exactly he saw with a little illustration.

“This was U.S. Air, American 408 and she was seated in 20F and I’m right here. Right behind her,” explains Bill Byrne.

Above is the video he recorded, seated behind the woman who didn’t make it to PDX.

“The video footage is so bad because I held my camera right like this so he couldn’t tell I was filming him. So, unfortunately most of it is the back of the seat but you can hear everything that happens,” says Byrne.

He says according to passengers at the front of the plane, the woman may have had some miscommunication with the flight attendant. Possibly didn’t hear him tell her to move out of the aisle, she thought that flight attendant was rude to her and was telling another airline employee about it when Bill says that first flight attendant came back to her seat to kick her off the plane.

Quote from the woman kicked off in the video: “Are you serious? I didn’t even know he was talking to me” … “This can’t be legal… I seriously didn’t do anything.”

Cue the passenger boos, including the boo from Bill.

“I’ve seen people who deserve that but never have actually seen somebody get thrown off a plane,” says Byrne.
