Pregnant mom’s stolen baby supplies replaced by Clark Co. couple

Stolen baby suppliesClark County, Wash. — (KGW) A Clark County husband and wife are being praised for helping an expectant mother who lost her car and baby supplies to thieves.

“There are still awesome people,” said the soon-to-be mother who wanted to be identified only as Jennifer.

Somebody stole Jennifer’s car on Sunday afternoon. She’s expecting a baby boy any day. Hundreds of dollars worth of baby supplies were inside the car.

“There was a car seat, diapers, wipes, baby clothes,” said Jennifer.

To say Jennifer was disappointed would be an understatement, but her luck changed on Monday when a husband and wife spotted her stolen Honda in the Orchards area of Clark County. Unfortunately, the steering wheel and center console were gone. So, too, were the baby supplies.

“I was very upset but I was happy, too, that I found my car.”

The story gets better.

The deputy on the case was talking with the sharp-eyed woman who found Jennifer’s car. He mentioned how the expecting mom lost all of the baby supplies.

“You could hear the tone of her voice change,” said Clark County Deputy Scott Holmes.

The woman sent her husband to Walmart to replace Jennifer’s stolen baby supplies.

“It’s not everyday that random witnesses see things and want to do nice things,” said Deputy Holmes.
