Report: OHA considers medical marijuana growing fee

640x360_50930C00-QBOEVOre. — Medical marijuana growers may have to shell out more cash for every patient they grow for.

The Oregonian reports the Oregon Health Authority is considering a proposal where growers would pay a $200 annual fee for every patient they grow for.

Right now the state charges $50 for every patient. Medical marijuana growers can grow for up to 4 patients.

The increase is estimated to boost revenue from 1.3 to 5.2 million dollars from this year through 2017.

People who only grow for themselves will not face a fee.
