Alturas, Ca. – A man accused of killing an Alturas woman appeared in Modoc County Court Thursday.
Robert Allen Vogee was charged with first-degree murder, burglary, and arson.
Pamela Johnson was found dead in Vogee’s home on February 21st.
An autopsy showed she died of blunt-force trauma, and strangulation.
Modoc County District Attorney Jordan Funk says Vogee is believed to have killed Johnson at her home.
Funk says Vogee then took her body to his house, which he then set on fire in an apparent murder-suicide attempt.
No plea was entered at Thursday’s hearing, Vogee’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 28th.
