Yreka, Cal. — A Yreka man is in jail tonight after police say he tried to kill his wife.
Yreka Police say they responded to the 600 block of Lane Street on a report of a man striking a woman early Monday morning.
Police say numerous windows had been broken and they could hear a woman screaming when they arrived.
Officers entered the house and found 33-year-old Christopher Sprague holding a young child and a woman who was badly beaten.
Officers took the child and the woman went to the hospital for Treatment.
Sprague was arrested and lodged in the Siskiyou County Jail on several charges including attempted murder.
