Central Point, Ore., — A six-way race for Secretary of State includes three Democratic candidates, two Republicans and one Independent.
Former Republican State Representative and 2014 gubernatorial candidate Dennis Richardson is running against Lane County Commissioner Sid Leiken.
The Central Point Republican Richardson winning with over 75 percent of the vote.
He’s in Portland tonight with supporters, but spoke to NBC5 news via Skype.
“I’m just so happy that people are willing to spend their time, talents and their money to help me become the nominee so I can be the first Republican Secretary of State in 40 years.”
The Secretary of State race will advance to the November general election.
