Rising river forces Montana evacuations

MISSOULA, Mont. (KECI) – Police are going door to door in a Montana neighborhood along the rising Clark Fork River warning residents to start preparing to leave.

The river has risen 10 inches in the last 12 hours.

It is expected to hit major flood stage later this week for only the sixth time in history.

Officials suggest residents don’t wait until an evacuation order has been issued and to leave early to ensure your safety as the river continues to rise.
