Rogue Valley women come together for 2017 Women Build

Medford, Ore. — Women from the Rogue Valley are coming together to build affordable housing for the community.

Nearly 120 women met for the 2017 Habitat for Humanity kick off event for Women Build.

Jude Forler was selected for the habitat home that’s a part of Women Build.

She says the support is heartwarming and thinks it’s exciting to see the changes that have happened for women throughout her lifetime.

“I grew up in an era where women weren’t so valued. And now, we can do anything. We can build houses! And we’re going to! We’re going to build my home and I’ll be living in it,” Forler said.

Forler says the new home will bring comfort, security and the ability to do things she wants to do like volunteering.

Women Build week starts on may 8t and ends on Mother’s Day.
