Sex offender arrested for trespassing at assisted living home

0323 trespassing suspectCentral Point, Ore. – Police arrest a man after he was reportedly found inside an assisted living home bathroom. According to the suspect, he was attempting to wash his hands and face.

The Central Point Police Department says that just after 7:00 Wednesday morning, a trespass call came in from Alderwood Assisted Living on Alder Street in Central Point. The report said that an unauthorized man was in a resident’s bathroom. Police say that when the man was confronted by staff, he fled. Officers were initially unable to locate him.

According to CPPD, the man evidently ran to a family member’s home on the 2300 block of Evan Way in Central Point. The man was a registered sex offender, and was not allowed to be in the presence of children who were in the home at the time.  His probation officer was called and CPPD came to arrest him.

Police say that upon arrival at the home, officers noticed that the man matched the description of the suspect who had been trespassing at Alderwood Assisted Living. The man, identified by police as 28-year-old Miguel Villa, admitted to being the trespasser. Villa told investigators that he was at the property to wash his hands and face.

Villa was arrested on charges of burglary, criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct and a detainer.
