Sherm’s donates food to ACCESS

Medford, Ore. — A big food donation from a local market feeds hundreds this holiday season. Sherm’s Thunderbird Market delivered a full truck of food and paper products today to ACCESS.

The market says the truck had 22 pallets inside – equal to about 33,000 pounds of food. This is the 17th year Sherm’s has donated to access before Christmas.

“We have been in the rogue valley for 49 years now, and the rogue valley has treated us well, the community has been good to us. It’s just our way of giving back to the community,” said Steven Olsrud, Sherm’s Thunderbird Market.

Access will distribute the food to various local organizations and churches. NBC5 asked Sherm’s if this tradition is slated to continue throughout the year. They said ‘absolutely’ for the foreseeable future.
