Siskiyou Co. Sheriff’s Office working to eliminate illegal marijuana grows

0720 Siskiyou County MarijuanaSiskiyou County, Calif. — Nearly 50,000 illegal marijuana plants were seized in Siskiyou County in less than a week.

The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office says they seized 49,952 plants that were primarily cultivated by drug cartels from July 31st to August 5th.

The SCSO worked as part of the North State Marijuana Investigation Team, to find the grows and get rid of them.

Grows are limited to 12 indoor plants for medical marijuana patients.

Deputies said the illegal sites used 1.5 to 2 million gallons of water a day.
