Six suspicious fires this month

Josephine County, Ore., — Six suspicious car fires in the last month in Josephine County have people on edge, and fire officials looking for answers tonight.

Rural Metro Fire says it’s too hard to tell if there’s been a pattern between any of the fires.

Once fires are deemed suspicious, law enforcement takes over.

Most of the cars have been abandoned, and none have been claimed – so the cases aren’t at the top of the to-do list.

“The lack of law enforcement, law enforcement being stretched thin in the area – it’s not a priority for law enforcement. ” said Fire Marshal, Mark Shay.
