Stabbing arrest in Josephine County

MUG Tracey BenetJosephine County, Ore. — Oregon State Police say a woman was arrested in connection with a Grants Pass area stabbing.

Police say they responded Wednesday to a reported stabbing that occurred on the 300 block of Murphy Creek Road, south of Grants Pass. Upon their arrival they located an injured female with a stab wound to her torso and blunt force injuries to her hand and foot. The victim was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass with non-life threatening injuries.

Police investigated the incident and subsequently arrested 51-year-old Tracy Benet.

Benet, who is identified by police as a transient, was lodged at the Josephine County Jail on multiple charges, including Attempted Murder, Burglary I, two charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Assault II.
