Stranded hikers back home

Siskiyou Wilderness, Calif. — A pair of Grants Pass hikers are back home tonight after spending two nights stranded in Del Norte County.

The pair hiked into the Devil’s Punchbowl area of the Siskiyou Wilderness Tuesday.

The hikers became stranded overnight when snow fell and covered up the trail. Above is a picture of the area taken by a search and rescue member.

The green tent in the corner belongs to the hikers. Search and rescue crews were able to lead them out late Thursday night.
