Suspect arrested in Klamath Falls stabbing

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Police in Klamath Falls have arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing that left a man in critical condition.

The stabbing happened behind the Elk Apartments in the 1100 block of Pine Street just after 7:30 Saturday night.

Dominc Nelson was passing by as the incident occurred. He said, “There were three guys over in the apartment complex, just had an altercation.  and it got into a pretty good fight, I guess – and one guy got stabbed, and he got towed off in an ambulance.”

Klamath Falls Police are in charge of the investigation.

“When they arrived there, they found Jesse Toney had been stabbed,” said Detective Sergeant Dennis Davenport.  “He was transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center, and subsequently up to O.H.S.U.”

As of Sunday afternoon, 40 year old Jesse Richard Toney was listed in ‘critical’ condition.

31-year-old suspect Paul Christian Wuerz has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Wuerz turned himself in to police Sunday afternoon just after 3:30, he’s charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon.

At this time, it’s unclear what may have sparked the stabbing.
