Suspect identified in Ashland stabbings

robertquinnUpdate (09/20 1:30 p.m.) — According to Ashland Police, the suspect who allegedly stabbed man and woman Monday night has been identified as 61-year-old Reno resident Michael Jerone Quinn. Quinn was previously identified by police as Robert Quinn, but name was determined to be an alias.

APD said Quinn has an extensive criminal history with several aliases.

Ashland, Ore.- A Reno, Nevada man is jailed in Jackson County following a stabbing in Ashland Monday night.

Ashland Police received reports of several people fighting near the front entrance of Lithia Park around 7:40 p.m. Monday night. When officers arrived, they found four people involved in a fight. All four were detained as the investigation continued.

That investigation revealed 64-year-old Robert Quinn became became involved in a fight with another man. At one point, police say he pulled a knife and stabbed a male victim several times. According to investigators, a female victim stepped in to stop the fight and was stabbed as well. Both victims were taken to Rogue Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Quinn was arrested and lodged on two counts of assault in the first degree, which is a class A felony. His identity is being further investigated, as he may have given investigators an alias.
