Suspicious man in Merlin

04.20 SCHOOLMerlin, Ore., — A scary encounter for two North Valley High School students after a suspicious man started following female track runners on Monument Road.

The girls were running their normal track route outside North Valley High School at around 4 pm on Monday.

That’s when an older man driving a green van started following them and calling to them. He even tried to get them to come towards his car.

And this isn’t the first time. A man matching the same description was first reported to be doing the same thing on April 7th.

Principal Dennis Meisner says he is now keeping the track team on campus for the rest of the season.

And if they do run off campus, a coach will be with them at all times.

Meisner says the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office has the name of the suspect and will be in contact with him.

A message for Sheriff Dave Daniel wasn’t returned.
