Tears flow as flood waters rise

NC_midlandflooding0818_1500x845Midland, La. (KLAF) — Residents of Midland, Louisiana are working to pick up the pieces after flood waters inundated communities and destroyed homes.

Backwater flooding from the Mermentau River has left six feet of flooding in many homes.

As homes and streets remain underwater, the Midland community now has to rebuild parts of their lives.

“I stayed through hurricanes. I stayed through other things. This has got to be the worse,” resident Moosie Benoit says.
