Teen escapes kidnapper in northern California

Bodega Bay, Calif. (NBC Newsource) — A harrowing story about a 13-year-old girl in northern California who was kidnapped and assaulted–and escaped after she jumped from a moving car and pretended to be dead.

A warning, this is a disturbing story.

It started at a gas station where this man, 50-year-old Timothy Lee Marble, is alleged to have spoken to the teen, who had recently run away from home, and convinced her to get in his truck.

The girl told authorities she drove around with the suspect and smoked marijuana with him.

When she rejected his sexual advances, he tied her to a tree and assaulted her.

At one point during the ordeal, he injected her with methamphetamine and also scratched his name into her skin with a knife.

Investigators say the teen jumped from his car in Bodega Bay. The suspect called for her and when she didn’t answer he threatened to kill her.

She kept quiet and the suspect then called 911 to say his companion had jumped from his moving car.

When police arrived at the scene, the girl jumped out of nearby bushes and Marble was arrested.

Neighbors in this mobile park say he has relatives living here and they’ve seen him come and go.

Marble is a convicted felon on drug charges.
