Tentative agreement between Medford School District and MEA

0505 Medford School MEAMedford, Ore. — A tentative contract agreement was reached between the Medford School District and the Medford Education Association on Wednesday.

According to the Medford School District, the one-year contract includes a 2.5% cost of living increase for all licensed Medford School District staff members.

Board Chair Jeff Thomas said the raise is important given the uncertainty of the financial forecast for the next biennium.

MEA President Dan Jones said, “For everyone involved, this agreement gives us a clean slate for negotiations moving forward and we’re looking forward to taking this agreement to Medford teachers for a ratification vote.”
The school district says that the new contract will run from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.
