Trailer fire in Gold Hill

Gold Hill, Ore., — A fire in Gold Hill burns a trailer to the ground.

Fire District Three and the Rogue River Fire Department responded to the 300 block of Hodson Road in Gold Hill around 5:30 this afternoon.

The call came in as a possible explosion – but both the firefighters and the house owner, Duke Snyder, say there was no explosion.

There were propane tanks next to the trailer – so an explosion was possible, but the tanks did not catch fire.

The fire did however threaten power lines so Pacific Power responded to the property and was prepared to step in.

“As I came out I seen all the smoke coming from the back, at first I thought it was somebody burning stuff back there, but when I got to look closer, it was too close to my property – and I saw the trailer burning, almost burnt to the ground.” says Snyder.

Snyder says his son had been living in the trailer but it’s been empty for the last couple of weeks.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation tonight.
