Dunsmuir, Cal. – A train derailed tonight in Northern California. The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department reports that eight empty cars on a Union Pacific Train came off the track. It happened about one mile north of Simpson Avenue in the North Dunsmuir area. There are no reports of hazardous materials being released and there are also no reports of injuries.
Residents are asked to stay away from the area while crews work to clear the scene.
