Truck dumps cement on Hwy. 62 in Medford

Update (11/04/16 10:00 a.m.) — Medford Police said the driver of the cement truck has come forward after watching the news. Officers are working with the person on clean up and possible violations. They add the material spilled on the roadway was not concrete as originally thought, but rather a clay/water mix.

Medford, Ore. — The eastbound lanes of Highway 62 (Crater Lake Highway) are open again after a cement truck spilled it’s load–and kept going. It happened just before 11:00 Thursday morning by Crater Lake Plaza.

Two lanes were closed to traffic as ODOT scooped the wet concrete off the road.

Medford Police are now looking for the driver of an unmarked white cement truck with California plates. That driver would likely be responsible for paying the clean-up bill.

The lanes were closed until about noon while crews waited for the cement to dry.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call police.
