Trump heads to Walter Reed Medical Center

BETHESDA, Md. (NBC) — President Donald Trump, who has COVID-19, was to be taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Friday afternoon, a senior administration official confirmed to NBC News.

The move was recommended by doctors as a precautionary measure after they consulted with the president.

Doctors said the president was experiencing mild symptoms and running a low-grade fever.

The president is expected to arrive at the hospital by helicopter sometime Friday evening.
