Trump staffer takes blame for Melania’s speech

NC_rnc160720_1500x845(NBC News) — Hoping to unify his party and inspire voter enthusiasm, Donald Trump pulled another unconventional move, arriving in Cleveland Wednesday for a rally with Mike Pence.

Trump does not formally address the convention until the climax Thursday night, but he’s in town early to amp up the energy.

Melania Trump’s speechwriter took the blame today for not noticing the plagiarized Michelle Obama quotes in her speech, but the speechwriter was not fired.

Donald Trump tweeted, “All press is good press.”

Tonight’s speakers include Mike Pence and Trump’s tough primary rival, a man he used to call “Lyin’ Ted Cruz.”

Cruz has lots of conservative supporters at the convention and around the country waiting to hear if he wholeheartedly endorses Donald Trump.
