TSA has less than 1 million screenings for the first time since Christmas

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NBC) — Holiday travel appears to be slowing down. At least for now.

On Thursday, the number of people who passed through airport security checkpoints dropped below one million for the first time since Christmas Day.

The Transportation Security Administration reported screening only 874,000 passengers.

Most days over the last two weeks, the TSA has screened more than a million travelers and that has raised public health concerns about the coronavirus spreading.
