Two dead after Michigan courthouse shooting

0711 Michigan courthouseSt. Joseph, Mich. — Two bailiffs are dead and several other people injured after a shooting at a courthouse in Southwestern Michigan.

An inmate fired the shots inside the Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph.

The two bailiffs were hit, along with a deputy sheriff- who’s in stable condition.

Several civilians were also hurt. The nature of their injuries is not known.  They’re said to be in stable condition.

Police said the shooter was shot and killed.

Berrien County Sheriff Paul Bailey said, “We don’t have all the details about what happened or what occurred or how he got the weapon.”
