Two Medford businesses robbed overnight

Medford, Ore. – Police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred Thursday night.

Medford Police said on March 8 around 5:00 p.m., a man with a knife contacted two Luigi’s Italian Sandwiches employees behind the business and ordered them back inside.

Officers said the suspect tried to rob the two employees but the money inside the business had already been secured in a safe. The suspect rode away on Riverside Avenue empty-handed on a mountain bike.

Around one and a half hours later, a similar robbery occurred at the Human Bean on Barnett, according to MPD.

Police said the suspect rode up to the business and demanded money. He was believed to be armed with some sort of weapon.

MPD said the descriptions of the suspect/suspects are very similar—a white man between the ages of 20 and 40, wearing dark pants and a hoodie.

According to police, the cases are possibly related to two other cases involving similar businesses over the past month. The suspect/suspects may strike again
