Two small earthquakes reported off the Oregon Coast

BANDON, Ore. – Two small earthquakes occurred off the Oregon Coast overnight.

The U.S. Geological Survey said at 11:10 p.m. Monday, a magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit about 127 miles west of Bandon at a depth of about 6 miles. It was followed by a magnitude 3.2 earthquake in the same area. The second one stuck at about 2:14 a.m. Tuesday.

Both earthquakes occurred near the Blanco Fracture Zone between the Juan de Fuca and Pacific Plates.

The latest quakes failed to trigger any tsunami warnings.
