Unhealthy air quality in Medford longest on record

MEDFORD, Ore. — If you feel like air quality has been worse this summer than in summers past, you’re probably right.

The National Weather Service says Medford has already seen the most summer days with air quality from wildfire smoke at “unhealthy” or worse since records began in 2000.

NWS says last year had more days with “very unhealthy” air quality, but those days occurred in early September.

This year, Medford started seeing smoke in July.
