Baby doe identified

NC_deerisland_700x394Boston, Mass. — (WHDH) Boston police are questioning at least two people in connection to the death of Baby Doe, the young girl who was found dead on Deer Island back in June.

According to sources, the girl has been identified as Bella, who was just shy of her third birthday.

Police said a search warrant conducted on a home on Maxwell Street in Dorchester late Thursday night led them to determine the young girl’s identity. It remains unclear what charges are expected to be filed, since Bella’s cause of death has not been determined.

Police said the search warrant was executed after a tip came in from someone who said Bella’s mother made a comment about her death.

Bella’s mother and a man voluntarily went with police Friday morning.
