Disney to add metal detectors

NC_disneysecurity1217_700x394Calif. — (WESH) Walt Disney World Resort will be adding metal detectors as part of new visible and non-visible security measures being implemented at Disney theme parks.

“We continually review our comprehensive approach to security and are implementing additional security measures, as appropriate,” Disney said in a statement Thursday.

Over the past few weeks, the parks have added more uniformed law enforcement as well as specially trained dogs in key areas.

Among the security measures being implemented, Disney has stopped the sale of toy guns, including squirt guns at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Disney’s costume policy is also being modified: guests 14 and older will no longer be allowed to wear them at the theme parks.
