Indiana clerk scolds would-be thief

NC_thiefscolded0114_700x394Greenwood, Ind.– An armed robbery didn’t go exactly as planned for an thief when a store clerk is caught on surveillance video shaming him into leaving the store empty handed.

With his face half-covered, the suspect is about to get a surprise scolding from the un-armed clerk he’s holding at gunpoint.

In surveillance video, the clerk is seen lecturing him, pointing his finger, like a parent would, and starts lecturing the robbery suspect on how what he’s doing is wrong and people work hard for their money and he shouldn’t be stealing.

The crook goes around the counter to get the cash but his plan doesn’t work. The clerk continues scolding him, telling him to get back out from behind his counter. At one point the clerk is holding the drawer shut so it won’t come open.

In an unexpected turn of events, the clerk manages to convince the gunman to put away his weapon.

After a six-minute argument, the thief runs out of the store.

The thief may have gotten a lesson in being a better man. And the clerk is learning he shouldn’t argue with an armed robber.
