No Charges in Tamir Rice Case

NC_tamirrice1228_700x394Cuyahoga County, Ohio — (NBC News) The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor announced on Monday that he would not file charges against the Cleveland Police Officers involved in the shooting death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice.

More than a year after the shooting took place, the prosecutor called the event “tragic”, but said that the officers did not break the law.

“Simply put, given this perfect storm of human error, mistakes and miscommunications by all involved that day, the evidence did not indicate criminal conduct by police,” said Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty.

Tamir Rice’s family released a statement saying that they were “saddened and disappointed by this outcome, but not surprised.”
