(NBC News) Taking action he says Congress won’t, President Obama announced Monday he’ll use his executive powers to tighten America’s gun laws.
“It’s not going to keep every gun out of the hands of criminals. It will will potentially save lives,” the president said.
Mr. Obama didn’t spell out what he’ll be doing in coming days, though the orders are expected to include stronger background checks to keep guns away from criminals and terrorists.
He promises the actions will be constitutional and supported by a majority of Americans.
