Off-duty Memphis police officer killed

(WMC) A Memphis, Tennessee police officer died after he was shot in Cordova, Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.

Memphis PD Director Toney Armstrong identified the officer as Terence Olridge, 31.

Men and women across the country are turning on blue lights to honor the men and women killed while serving and protecting our communities.

Olridge was off duty when someone shot him multiple times just before 1 p.m.

He was taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition, but doctors pronounced him dead a short time later.
