Using the Jackson Co. Expo ponds now requires a fee

Central Point, Ore., — The newly renovated ponds at the Jackson County Expo now come with a price.

The ponds were recently renovated by Jackson County Parks, but with that make over, it now means having to pay to use to the ponds.

You can pay a four dollar day use fee, or you can buy a Jackson County Parks pass.

But it appears there are no signs up, and no where to pay.

Some people using the ponds today had no idea, and were unsure about the price.

“I think they should keep that open to the public, 4 dollars is not an outrageous fee. But I don’t really know how to feel about it. I always come here and it never used to cost anything.” said one fisherman, Tony Farve.

The make over includes the RV park, and gone are the muddy banks, garbage and drug paraphernalia.
