Vehicle catches fire in downtown Medford

Medford, Ore. – Smoke poured over downtown Medford Wednesday evening after a vehicle caught fire behind the Jackson County Library.

Firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle on fire in the parking lot between the library and Rogue Community College’s “A” building around 6:30.

Medford Fire and Rescue said a person was driving when they noticed smoke coming from the vehicle. They pulled into the parking lot where the car went up in flames.

Firefighters said nobody was hurt, and due to the quick response of fire crews, no property or vehicles were damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
