Whales surface near working Oregon State Police troopers

TILLAMOOK, Ore. – Oregon State Police troopers had an exciting wildlife encounter while on the job Tuesday.

While troopers patrolled Tillamook Bay, a pod of orcas surfaced from the water several times. They caught the moment on camera.

Oregon State Police is responsible for keeping tabs on the state’s sport and commercial fishing regulations and helps protect marine resources and wildlife, like the whale they saw Tuesday.
