When does fire season start?

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. – Fire season typically starts in early June in southwest Oregon, but that’s not always the case.

Statistics show the start of fire season from the Oregon Department of Forestry’s Southwest Oregon Office. It serves Jackson and Josephine Counties.

The data shows fire season has started in early June for the last six years. Only twice in the last 10 years did it start in July.

ODF Southwest Oregon hasn’t indicated yet when fire season will begin in southwest Oregon.
