Woman killed after falling near N. Umpqua River

0801 river rocksDouglas County, Ore. – A woman died after falling approximately 90 feet to the edge of the North Umpqua River on Sunday.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said 23-year-old Roseburg resident Sydney Craft was taking photographs of a man jumping into the river just east of the town of Glide when she slipped and fell to the river’s edge.

Craft was deceased when emergency personnel arrived on scene.
