Woman rescued from car

08.19 CAREagle Point, Ore., — A woman is safe tonight, after she was stuck in her car and couldn’t get out for nearly 24 hours.

She drove off Nick Young Road around two in the morning on Monday after swerving to avoid hitting a deer.

Her car became stuck and wasn’t visible from the road.

“A vehicle back in the blackberry brush that was barely noticeable from the highway, it sounds like she had some food and water in the vehicle and appeared to be ok.” said Sergeant Scott Waldon with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

She wasn’t found until late Tuesday afternoon, after a cyclist rode by and heard her calling for help.

“On Tuesday when I was heading home, I noticed there was a tow truck on the side of the road, and I could see car tire marks heading into the creek.” said Sherri Ross, a woman who works nearby.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says the 69-year-old woman was taken to the hospital, but wasn’t seriously hurt.
