Woman shoots ex-boyfriend during altercation

Josephine County, Ore. – A woman shot her ex-boyfriend after he tried to force his way into her rural Josephine County home.

Police said OSP troopers responded on Friday to reports of shots fired at a residence off Beebe Drive, several miles outside of Cave Junction.

According to OSP, when troopers arrived on scene they found 55-year-old Mark Jordan with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Their investigation revealed Jordan and his 56-year-old ex-girlfriend lived near each other and had gotten into an altercation. Police said Jordan forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s home, where she fired several rounds from a handgun, striking Jordan once in the leg.

Police arrested Jordan on Monday after he was released from the hospital. He was taken to the Josephine County Jail and charged with burglary in the 1st degree.

OSP said the investigation in ongoing.
