Woman shot in Cave Junction

0627 Cave Junction shootingUpdate (06/28 3:00 p.m.) — Oregon State Police say the woman who was shot in Cave Junction early Tuesday morning has been released from the hospital.

Troopers say the 37-year-old Amanda R. White was driving her car on Pine Cone Drive just before 1:00 a.m. when she swerved around someone who was standing in the road. She backed up, and realized she had been shot in the arm.

OSP said White was released from the hospital Tuesday morning. The 8-year-old boy inside the car was not injured.

According to OSP, it appears to be a random shooting.


Cave Junction, Ore. – Police are investigating after a woman was shot in Cave Junction.

Officers say the shooting happened on the 700 block of Pine Cone Drive early Tuesday morning.

According to police, an unknown person shot 37-year-old Cave Junction woman while she was inside her vehicle. An 8-year-old juvenile was also in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
