Youth mental health facility faces lawsuit

Grants Pass, Ore. — Kairos Northwest is under fire again.  The Josephine County Board of Commissioners says they are in the process of terminating the lease for the Kairos facility located on Tacoma street, near the Merlin airport.  The commissioners say the Grants Pass property is violating the terms of lease because the building is vacant and not being used for its intended purposes.

Kairos is a youth mental health treatment program that operates at multiple locations in Jackson and Josephine County. Kairos Northwest already made news headlines this year when multiple employees were accused and arrested on charges related to sexual abuse.

Meanwhile, the board says it also filed a lawsuit against Kairos and Umpqua Bank in regards to the Tacoma street property.
