Zillow: Hundreds of Oregon Coast homes could be underwater by 2100

0805 Underwater homesNearly 5,000 homes could be underwater on the Oregon Coast in the next 85 years.

Real estate website Zillow said in a new report the homes would be gone because of rising seawater by the year 2100.

Warrenton would be the hardest hit community, with more than 800 homes predicted to go underwater.

Other cities affected would be Astoria, Coos Bay, Lincoln City, and Reedsport. They’d lose about 500 homes each.

But things could be worse. Florida is predicted to lose more than 900,000 homes by the turn of the century.
